Most burglaries are committed by opportunist thieves and can be prevented by thinking about the security of your home and belongings.
* 1 in 5 burglaries occur because windows and doors are left open! Particularly during the day. Make sure you lock windows and doors.
* Fit good quality deadlocks to all exterior doors.
·* Fit window locks and restrictions, especially on ground floor windows
* Consider installing a burglar alarm and set it when going out or to bed
· * Ensure your house appears occupied. Timers are available to fit most lamps
· * Ensure your house and car keys cannot be accessed from the letterbox or any window.
· * Make sure you can confirm the identity of any person you are letting into your home.

Some interesting facts about Wimblington & Stonea.
Wimblington & Stonea is a village with great community spirit and an amazing history. With the country's lowest lying Iron Age hill fort at Stonea and some believe the site was the location of Boudica's last stand off against the Romans. Wimblington also has the only war memorial in the country to have had a name removed from it, of course that is our friend Percy B Cox, who took on the alias of Australian soldier, Ernest Durham.
